Grading Pokémon Cards from France: PSA, PCA or CCC, and When It Pays Off
The fees and waiting times of PSA, PCA, CCC and CGC for a collector in France, read on their own websites, and what the fee means against the price of the card you send.
Last updated 2026-10-27.
For an everyday card, grading costs from €12.90 (PCA, a six-month wait) to €49.99 (PSA), before shipping.
It only pays off if the grade adds more than the fee to the card's price. On a €20 card it rarely does; from a few hundred euros up, the fee becomes a small share of the price.
The fees, company by company
The cheapest price for a single everyday card, read on each company's own website on 27 October 2026.
| Company | Where | Price per card | Tier | Stated turnaround |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PCA | Paris | €12.90 | Classic (€10.90 a card from 10 cards) | 6 months |
| CCC | Malakoff, near Paris | €20.00 | Regular | 25 working days |
| CGC | Munich office | €22.61 | Economy | 50 working days |
| PSA | European service, priced in euros | €49.99 | Standard (introductory price; list price €59.99) | 80 to 90 business days |
Each fee depends on the value you declare: at CCC, €20.00 up to €50, €23.00 up to €100, €27.00 up to €500; at PCA, €22.90 on Classic from €250 to €999; at PSA, Standard covers cards declared up to €900. Faster tiers cost more: PCA Fast €19.90 (1 month), CCC Express €5.00 extra (10 working days), PSA Priority €69.99 (70 to 80 business days).
What the fee means against the card's price
To break even, the grade has to add at least the fee to the card's resale price.
| Card value | PCA | CCC | CGC | PSA |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| €20.00 | 65% | 100% | 113% | 250% |
| €50.00 | 26% | 40% | 45% | 100% |
| €100.00 | 13% | 23% | 23% | 50% |
| €300.00 | 8% | 9% | 8% | 17% |
How to read it: sending a €50 card to PSA costs 100% of its value, before shipping. And the grade isn't known in advance: grading is a bet on the grade, not a guaranteed gain.
Before you send
- Declare the card's real value: it sets the fee and, at CCC, the insurance (2% of the declared value).
- Count shipping both ways; none of the prices above include it.
- Turnaround times are estimates: CCC's terms say they are not contractual.
- Check the ungraded price in your language and condition before you decide; it changes from one language to another.
What we can't tell you
We record Cardmarket listings for ungraded cards, not graded card prices. So this guide doesn't say which of the four grades resells highest, or how much a 10 adds to a given card. For the starting point, every card's ungraded price is on our set pages.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to grade a Pokémon card from France?
For a card declared under €249, PCA charges €12.90 on Classic (6 months), CCC €20.00 up to €50 declared (25 working days), CGC €22.61 at its Munich office and PSA €49.99 on European Standard. Shipping both ways is extra. Prices read on each company's website on 27 October 2026.
At what price is a Pokémon card worth grading?
The fee has to be covered by what the grade adds to the card's price. On a €20 card, even the cheapest fee (€12.90 at PCA) is 65% of its value; on a €300 card it drops to about 8%. At €50 or less, a PSA grade has to at least double the card's price just to pay for itself.
PCA or PSA?
PCA is based in Paris and costs less, but its Classic tier takes six months. PSA, which calls itself the largest grading company in the world, costs about four times as much for an everyday card. We don't record graded card prices, so we can't tell you which one resells better.
How long does grading take?
According to the companies' own websites: 25 working days at CCC on Regular, 50 working days at CGC on Economy, 80 to 90 business days at PSA on Standard, 6 months at PCA on Classic (1 month on Fast). These are estimates, not promises.
